Loving the end of summer!

Recently I had placed my 2 weeks notice in at the Brewery and couldn't of been more excited for it to becoming to an end. I am very grateful to have had that job though because it allowed my to pay off my credit card! Yahooooo!! But I was really ready for it to come to an end and have a mellow end to the summer in Seward. I've been loving my new job at Exit Glacier Guides & also loving the schedule of it because it allows me to have time to spend with my friends and David. I even got to go up on a glacier helicopter tour a week or two ago! It was so awesome!  It also allows me to teach yoga on a more consistent basis (without being worn out!).

Loving my new job!

View from the heli tour! (blue roof buildings are the maximum security prison we live next too and in front is beautiful Resserection Bay!)

Yoga has been going great and every class I feel more and more comfortable teaching and working with the yogis and yoginis who come to practice! I've been really lucky to have a group of people who are always coming to classes and graciously give donations. We've found a great spot to have yoga on sunny days (right by the water) and even have a sheltered spot on rainy days (which is now more and more frequent). It's been really cool to see this yoga thing take off. I really thought no one would come & it would be a big flop. But every class I have at lease 4 or 5 people now who all love coming. It's a small town so word travels fast and I'm so thankful for these dedicated yogis who spread the word and bring friends! It's always a great experience and I look forward to the doing yoga until summers end with these great people in Seward! I even go to go up and do yoga on top of Mt. Marathon a little bit with my sweet friend Gina! (Gina, if you are reading, come back to Alaska! I miss you!).

Yoga class by the bay! Exhaulted Warrior Pose!

Dancer on the mountain top!

Attemping handstand on a very rocky wabbly surface!

And one of me and Gina after we ran the beast! Sweaty, dirty, and totally happy!

Having more free time, we've also go to hang out with our friends a bit more which has been really fun. Our friend Jason, who was our first friend in Seward is a deckhand on a charter fishing boat and has been so sweet enough to stock us up with fresh salmon and halibut! Let me say "O.M.G!" Freshly caught fish is AMAZING! I've been having fun finding new ways to make fish and let's just say we've had some satisfied bellies in our apartment! We've made halibut stir fry, salmon with pesto rice, sourdough salmon sandwiches, etc! Mmmmmmm!!

Halibut Stir Fry with homeade honey orange glaze stir fry sauce!

Seared salmon with pesto rice, mushrooms, caramelized onions, and goat cheese!

And for the first time this summer we finally had friends over to our humble abode! My friend Ruybe recently got back into town from being gone for over a month fishing with her brother in Nak Nak & Jason our friend, who RARELY gets a day off, had a day off, so we bought lots of beer and made a bonfire at our place! It was so fun, even though I got a little cranky at the end because I had to work early. But luckily my friends are sweet and understood! It felt like a real Alaskan summer hang out! Cheesy I know! But it was fun!

Welcome home Nak Nak Princess, Rubye!

Our neighbors dog, who I LOVE, and have named "Weenie!" and cute David.

Hanging outside!

Our fish slaying friends Rubye and Jason! (with our lovely house behind, LOL!)

I continue, as I say with every post, fall more and more in love with Alaska, it's beauty, and people! Currently, I am hanging out up in Anchorage with my great family who houses me, feeds me, and provides me with wine and entertainment! Life is good up in the last frontier! :)

Thinking about you all!
